Found a Kitten*Cute Pics Added*

I wouldn't worry yet. They don't poo everytime. If he hasn't eaton much the last day or two he may take a day or two before he goes.

You can try to give him mineral oil. It should help. If not then call a vet tomorrow and ask about a natural laxative to help relieve him. I wouldn't worry just yet but a bit of mineral oil won't hurt.

I have a cat that never knew Mom....well only knew me as Mom. I never taught her to cover, but she does anyway. I think its instinctive.

ewww Smokey has got fleas, isn't he too young for a flea collar? What can I do? It's been so long since I have had a little kitten.

I would get some roundwormer and give him a dose. also, I would stop at the vets and get a tapewormer pill. They are usually around $6.00 and work for 3 months. If you are going to keep him, I would take him to the vet and get him rabies, and distemper, and since you have another cat, I would get him a blood test for feline leukemia and aids.

I think you can dust him with DE for fleas too!! there is a website with a natural flea spray you can use for kittens, I will try to find it for you! it's good stuff!!

edited to add site for natural flea control

I would clip his nails, and give him a flea bath with flea shampoo, ( too many fleas can give a young kitten anemia). Or you could get frontline from the vet, but that is expensive. He is too young for a flea collar. Do NOT use a flea collar. I would give him a flea bath. and since he has fleas he probably has roundworms and tapeworms.

What an adorable kitty!

The best way to tell the age of a kitten is to weigh it. Roughly, 1 lb equals 4 weeks old, 2 lbs - 8 weeks old, etc. And it is old enough to worm if it weighs 1 lb. You will need to get Pyrantel from a vet, not over the counter wormer as that is not safe for kittens this young at all! Pyrantel is perfectly safe, but you need to get it from a vet, which means the kitten needs to be seen. I have used it on every kitten 4 weeks and older I have raised. Bloated stomachs almost always mean worms in kittens since they are passed on from the mother in most instances, especially outdoor cats. It is best to get them taken care of quickly before the health of the kitten is affected. Oh, and Pyrantel is very inexpensive if cost is an issue.

I have been involved in kitten/cat rescue for a couple years and have raised over 15 kittens (I've kept all of them and added them to my 6 cats = 21 total living with me. Lol yes, I'm insane but there are worst things to be I guess

) in the past year with these same problems, most of them dumped or given to me by people who didn't want to take care of them. I hope this information helps you some.

I'm not a vet by any means, but I've raised dozens of cats. My last was only 2 weeks old, a stray, my beagle chased the mother cat away and she never came back. We bottle fed the kitten every 4 hours. Your little baby appears to be about 5-6 weeks of age. You should take a warm damp cloth and bath her rear just like her momma would do. Most often this will stimulate the kitten to go. However, I do agree with some of the other folks that have replied that she might have worms. I would contact your vet by Tuesday afternoon if she hasn't had a BM. As far as covering her pee or poo in the litter box....never had to do that, thankfully. She more than likely already has that taught to her by her own mom.

Good luck - she is absolutely adorable!

I agree, definitely a bath since fleas are really bad for young kittens especially. Do not use frontline or any other flea product unless he is over 8 weeks old (2+lbs). It can kill them quickly - the kitten and the fleas!
