My female just started laying and gave me one egg and that was it, or so I thought. The next 5 days, no egg. Well, last night I discovered she'd been burying them in her pine shavings in her pen! I put them in the fridge, but now I'm wondering if they're ok to eat? They've been outside for up to 5 days. Should I just play it safe and throw them away? They're my first eggs so I was extra excited.

personally I would not eat them-many would do the float test --they stay sunk at bottom they are good they float at all they are bad-I found a nest of 10 chickens eggs the other day-they all sunk but I cooked them up and fed them to the chickens anyway-it only took 1 time a few weeks ago for my DD to get a bad one and it was gross!!! Never again wil I take the chance
