Found a very sweet rooster in Clearwater, Florida in our yard....

Hey scratch! I actually caught your post about an hour before I took him to the post office today. I filled the bottom of the box with shredded newspaper - made a makeshift trough out of a half of a margarine cup firmly taped to the side with packing tape and filled that with canned corn (which he LOVES) and put about 20 seedless grapes cut in half in the bottom of the box with him as well. He was dropped off at the post office at 4:50pm this afternoon and tomorrow morning, my mom's local post office (SMALL town) is already expecting him and they have promised to call mom to come and pick him up as soon as he arrives (even if it's before they're open). Hopefully he'll only be in the box for 14 or 15 hours. I'll breathe a lot easier when I know he arrived safe and sound.

And you were right....he didn't show an ounce of appreciation when it came time to put him in the box! LoLoL

Thanks to everyone for helping me with your advice and tips....it was a really fun two weeks with him in the house. Miss him already, but I know he'll be much happier in the long run up in Ohio with a couple of acres and lots of buddies!! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with photo's of Roger in his new home.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN - you have no idea how helpful you all were with my unexpected house-guest!!!! This is a really neat site you have here - never would I have imagined I'd be on a forum like this! LoL

Most sincerely,

Mary C.
