They're really different from mallards though, which makes them harder to care for. They can only be fed the Mazuri Starter, other feeds won't work. They also will never eat out of a dish like mallards, until they're 3 or 4 weeks old.I have a pwp on fostering wild ducklings and though made for mallards most info will work the same
Maybe the American black duckDid the mom look like any of these? Some of the pictures are of males bu it may help

Are there any rehabbers or aviaries near by that could take it? I know they're precious but even the most experienced can barely keep them alive in captivity. They're just too difficult. If you want it to live the best thing you can do is find somewhere to take it. I tried to find somewhere for mine, but no where would take it in, they said they were full.And just the one
