Found an egg on my dock

That's called shadowing, it happens up to a day before internal pip. It's basically what its called, lol. The baby pushes on the membrane to loose it with his back. Then it pips. The pip is a big triangle in the air cell, you'll see it tapping and might hear peeps 🥰
Oh it is definitely shadowing! Wow I had not heard of that. I just upped the humidity because the air cell looks nice and big now! The anxiety is REAL!

I'm so excited! I'm going to think of it all night! I kinda made it up my first 2 hatches, and then I looked it up and it was a real thing! Lol. Sounds perfect! I'm going to bed now, I'll check back first thing in the morning!

Could this mean it is in the correct hatching position or am I getting ahead of myself? lol

So exciting! The little guy looks great! Up the humidity a little and watch for external pip. Everything looks normal to me, try to limit handling the egg whilst it's in lockdown.
Do you have the rehabilitator sorted for when it hatches? If it's shadowing this early it is most likely an egret.

Yea, you can just bring them in! They have it all set up for social distancing too! Can they survive for 24 hours after they hatch? No food or water? I read that about other birds! What would you say is the best way to transport the little guy to the wildlife place? They say just a small dark box but I am wondering if it should be on a hot water bottle or something.

IT PIPPED!
