Found an egg on my dock

Ahhh! The baby is soo cute! it is definitely a heron or egret! Make sure to feed it when it first begs.
Are you able to get some mealworms and crickets? They can be dried.
Make sure to thoroughly sanitize your hands before handling the baby. If you want you can run some of the water from your dock through a strainer to get the shrimp and fish and feed those.

I have the silversides! I was going to go with that!

Haha yep! The baby is sooo gorgeous lol, I miss raising my egrets,,
I cannot stop watching it! I will get a video! Do you still recommend the silversides? My neighbour who raises exotic birds brought over an egg meal that he feeds all his newly hatched birds too. He suggested mixing that with the silversides with some water!

I have limited knowledge on this, but I think all wild birds are fed whole food by their parents from the moment they hatch (except doves, which are a whole different thing). So long as the fish are pretty small, they should work fine. But I'm no expert and I've only taken care of a few birds. The only babies I have experience with are doves, which, like I said before, are kind of a special case.
