One of our hens went missing two weeks ago. We searched high and low and surmised that a predator must have gotten her. Well, today we are doing some spring cleaning and found a spot we hadn't thought of before. Low and behold, there she was atop **17** eggs. Now the question is: are these safe to eat? Temperatures have been between 25 and 55, mostly on the lower end. I hate to throw them out unless we really need to. Thanks!

I'm assuming you don't have a rooster! You can do the float test if you wish. Put an egg in a cool glass of water. If it sinks, it is supposedly OK to eat. If it floats, toss it.
