Found Baby Bantams in the Park

Oh my, what state are you in?

If you were near me I'd adopt those.....

You need to have these on starter feed (medicated)

Thanks for saving their lives!

OMG! You mean I have to keep them!

Guess I better pick up that book PRONTO! They're so small, about the size of chicks that you'd get at the feed store, but because they are already beginning to feather, I was trying to figure out what they could be. That is why I guessed Bantam. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks. Thanks for your advice.

I have some that are a week and have fully feathered wings and little tail feathers about a half inch long. So I believe yours are right behind mine in development. If they are the size of feed store chicks, they are most likely standards. You don't have to keep them if you don't want. Find them a home. I have the perfect one right here if you are close enough to me

Oh, I forgot to mention that I live in Arizona, just 30 miles SE of Phoenix. Weather here is 70 degrees during the day, and low 50's at night. Maybe they can go outside soon than six weeks. That brooder is pretty small.

I love this forum. You guys are all SOOO much fun, and helpful too!

There are several BYC'ers from the Phoenix area. You could list them in our auctions section for free local pickup. You will have them gone in about 60 seconds I'm betting..

I put mine into the coop at 4 weeks but had a lamp for the cooler night time temps for a couple weeks.

That one in the dish behind the big one in front looks like maybe it could be a Barred Rock... note the large white spot on the head. I'm guessing that they are probably standard sized production type breeds from the feed store.... but it's hard to say just yet. Glad you were able to rescue them. I hope you find a nice farm home for them

You know, I might just keep them. I do have a little coop that I keep - just in case we get domestic birds. Maybe I will wait until they're feathered out and see what they are. I have small acreage, so that isn't a problem. Or, if need be, I will take the suggestion to list them here for local pickup. For now, they're safe in the brooder. They sure are lots of fun!
