Hello,

I found a baby mouse in the middle of no where in out gararge my dog was going to eat it but NOOO I would not let her do that I picked the mouse up it was hungry and skinny.
I have a teet and milk but how do I care for it (where do I put it ECT)

Most people keep mice in aquariums with wire lids, be sure to put a locking lid on. (bigger the better no smaller then 10 gallons)

It will need a water dish, water bottle, wood shavings (not ceder), mouse food when old enough (can substitute dry cat food or dog food mixed with bird food, or rat food but only until you get the right stuff).

If it has all of its fur and eyes are open, with 'good' to 'ok' mobility (actually walking, not sliding on belly, better yet if its jumping) it can be 'weaned' use KMR (kitten milk replacement) in a shallow dish.

You will need to change water every day and the tank whenever YOU can smell it- the mouse has much better sence of smell and when you can smell it , he or she is choking on the fumes.

You want him/her in a draft free area, any temperature that is comfortable for you will be fine for a mouse. If it has all of its fur.

If its eyes are closed or it has no fur you will need a tiny pipet dropper and to feed every 2 hours, the belly is 'clear' you will see a milk band.

You also need to know what type of mouse this is, house mouse, fruit mouse, field mouse, deer mouse...ect.

Depending on it's age, baby mice can hop/jump remarkably well, so I'd opt for a fish tank type of container w/bedding (not cedar) inside. Even something like a 5 gallon bucket (anything with slick sides) would work... Good luck with the little critter!

I had a baby field mouse once when I was little. We found it under our camper and we put it in a jar with a milk cap full of water and some bits of apple, but it was severely injured and it died about a week after.

Do I have to feed them at night

I raised a tiny blind mouse. Are you gently rubbing its parts to make it pee and poo after every feeding? Is it warm enough? I kept mine in a small kritter keeper box on top of a heat strip for reptiles. I litterly woke up every 2-3 hours though out the night for a few weeks to fed Rat. (DH said she was a rat so the name stuck) It was very hard and time consuming to keep her going. I had to take her to work and go on break every 2 hours to feed her a few drops of replacer.
