Found bird in yard!!!!

we found a what looks like a peachick and we don't know what to do. Right now we have it in a box with some chick starter and a tiny cup of water. Is it a peafowl? And does it need a heat lamp still??

Yes it is a peachick.. They must be a hatch close, It can use a light maybe a 60 watt bulb above it, It is big enough to jump out of the box with out a cover.. good luck... connerhills

Where exactly are you? Someone's probably looking for that baby and thinking it was eaten by a predator...

Usually when you did a pet breed the law basically requires you to make an effort to find the owner for a couple weeks at least, by putting out public announcements of some sort. Maybe a sign on a telephone pole would be ideal, since the bugger couldn't have travelled far from your street.

Ahhhh... I actually have peafowl at my farm over here in California. We used to have to females but they disappeared 3 weeks ago and now we find this little guy!!!

If this is the case, the peahen must be nearby...
