Found chicken - help with I.D. please!

We rescued a chicken who appeared to be dying in our backyard. Is doing so much better now, but we have no idea what the age, breed, or gender is. Can anyone help with I.D.?

Looks like someone dumped him. He seems to be younger at around 7-10 weeks old and most definitely a male. I am unsure on the breed

Looks like a mixed breed cockerel around 8ish weeks old.
He was most likely dumped. Poor thing.

The wattle growth+color and the pattern of his feather barring.

Since you found him, it makes the most sense he's a mix.
When he's older though it'll be easier to tell if he could be a pure breed.
