Found chicken

My daughter found this chicken in the corner of a busy street so we brought it home and we're trying to figure out what to do with it. It looks kind of like our Austrolorps but has a rose comb. Gender? Breed? What is this chicken?

She's a hen, mixed breed. Her comb is unusual. Probably the result of a pea comb breed mixed with a single comb breed. She could well be part Australorp. I'm sure someone would take her if you can't keep her.

Lol I know! I wish I could have kept her...she was so sweet and friendly. However our coop is too small for another one and I had nowhere to quarantine her anyway so she has been rehomed.

I'm glad we were able to catch her. My daughter had seen her earlier in the day on the corner of a six-lane street with a 50 mph speed limit, scratching around in the landscaping. She was going to get run over for sure so we went back at sunset with a towel and found her roosting on top of a bush. So we just wrapped her up in a towel and brought her home. She was really hungry and ate a whole bowl of feed right when she got here, poor thing. She will have a much better future now, but I sure wish we could have kept her.

glad you found a good home for her. Her legs looked thick for a hen, wonder if she had mites.
