Found duck eggs the other day

Where I live it is still pretty cold at the moment, only just started coming out of winter a few days ago. It will be hard to get them up to that temperature and keep it stabilized but I will try! Hopefully it isn't too late for them.

Maybe you could find a box big enough to put all the eggs inside of with a lid to stabalize? Lots of people use ice chests :) maybe an end table cabniet?

Ventalation is also important though, i forgot to mention that the babies need air exchange, BUT that could be accomplished by opening said box for Turning, another thing yet to be discussed LOL

You wouldn't happen to be in Oz or NZ would ya? Believe their seasons are opposite us in the US...

Try not to get too worked up over these eggs... you are trying and that's all you can do... if you hadn't come along then they'd all be goners for sure...

I think a glass mixing bowl with plastic wrap over it might be best option right now... using the lamp it'll be easier to keep temps up in it... just poke some holes in the plastic...

Haha, yes I am in NZ!! At the moment the eggs are sitting in a lined shoe box, lid off, with a desk lamp shining down on them (it can get quite warm) at the moment their temperature is just a tiny bit over 25C...they need to be at least 10C over that, right? At the moment it's 13C outside

THANK YOU so much for all the help, I wasn't expecting to get so much

Even if none of them make it, it's still good to try

You're very right, it is good to try... temp needs to get to 37° I believe, since you use Celsius, lol... Shoe box is just fine for now, humidity can be worried about later, temp is most important... From candling pics though, I will say that they might not have made it... they don't look quite right, but until they're up to temp I'd keep going for now... once they're nice and toasty warm for a while, then candle again and look for movement... :)

Well, if you didnt expect TONS of help, you came to the wrong website! :) i think Rayvns right, again ;), in your situation, the saran wrapped bowl would be best, or maybe a deep, glass roasting pan? Galss is an insulator thats why reccomending glass. That way though, when you turn the eggs? You can just simply (stabalize the eggs) put a book under one end at a time, and that will move them through the 90* turning, and keep you from needing to open it, therefore keeping it more stable. Keeping paper towels damp is tough, so a small cup or bowl would mean less fixing it. If you have an oral baby syringe, that could help you by just sticking it thru one of the saran holes when rewetting. You need to turn the eggs for the best chance at hatching. Lots of times i have read that tou should turn an Odd number of times a day, so that the eggs never sit on the same side two nights in a row, but everyones opinions differ.
