:( found duck floating dead this morning

I have been looking for the past week on craigslist. I did find four ads in east texas and I emailed them, but they didn't respond. So, guess they sold them. I'l just keep checking

Sorry but with that male/female ratio it could very well have been overbreeding. Unfortunately the rest of your females are probably in danger from the drakes. I think you need to at least run a temporary wire fence between the boys and girls until you come up with better arrangements. Or empty the pool, or something!

From what I've learned I would bet to say it is the male to female ratio. Was it a female that you found dead, I don't think you've said which sex it was? (If you did I overlooked it) How did it's neck look (giving the fact it was a female)? I hope you are able to separate them for a while until you are able to get rid of some of your males, or get more females to balance the group. Good Luck! Sorry for your loss

I'm with you, Dances with Ducks. As soon as I seen that 5 females to 9 drakes! Holy cow, that poor little girl didn't have a chance.
I had to deal with one female and 3 drakes. They would try to gang rape her so I had to separate them until I found someone to take two of the boys.

I'd have to say that's probably what happened. They need to be separated.
