Found duck on road!

Well able to walk with out difficulty for one thing, Pekin are prone to leg issues since they grow so fast. So if her legs look strong and she is walking normal then that is a good sign.

May take time for the egg if she is of laying age. Give her time to get settled in good. Will she be living with the chickens or is she already? Giving her a nice soft bedding area inside where she feels comfortable will help make her feel at home too plus a good diet.

She might live with the chickens or we might build a little coop for her and 1 or 2 other ducks.

She is under quarantine right now.

Is cedar poisonous to ducks?

Cedar shavings? the oils are suppose to be can cause respiratory issues for birds. I don't think it holds it smell for long though. I've never used it only wood shavings.

That's awesome you may get more ducks [whoot]. She'll be so happy to have some of her own species.

Disease transmitted between Ducks and or to Chickens is almost impossible. Ducks have way stronger immune systems. Plus if not practicing a total Biosecurity measure anything is being transmitted anyways. Chickens are a walking disease..

I found a Pekin duck on the side of the road, and now i am caring for it. I have questions.

How long can i keep the duck alone for?

How long is quarantine?

What do i feed it?

How can i tell age?
