I finally found my password, so I thought I would post a picture or two of the new Muscovy girls we adopted today. They are 4 months old, the result of a classroom hatching project that was not well thought out for the future of the ducklings .
Hopefully the posting Gods will smile kindly on my attempt.
We had another lovely black Muscovy, Valentina. She passed away suddenly sometime during the night of June 28th. She had appeared to be fine, in fact, she was sitting on the edge of the pool that day and I was thinking what a beautiful duck she was. Then my husband went out to feed all the animals in the morning and he found her dead in the shed. No injuries, or anything obvious. Unfortunately, in his rush to try to keep me from seeing her body, he buried her so I could have a necropsy done on her. He meant well, but I was upset. Any how it it over and she is with all the rest of the flock members that have passed over the years. It was pretty upsetting though.
So, there was room for a few more girls. And these young ones needed a good home, so here they are. I am still working on names though. Hard to find good names that start with V and end in A, running out of ideas.
