Found our First Egg Yesterday!!!!

I received my first egg last week. I believev it is my RIR. I received 1 egg for 2 days then the 3rd day nothing on the 4th day i went to check and she was pecking at it. This week i found a egg that was eaten, is this expected when they first start laying? Some days I have found 2 eggs so I must have another hen starting to lay.

Yay for eggs!! Congrats....I got my first eggs today and it is so much fun to share the news with people too.

My threatening conversation this morning must have worked!!!!! 2 eggs were in the box when I got home!!

UPDATE- It is definitly the leghorn laying. Caught her yesterday around noon. My husband and I had the window open and were chuckling at all her squacking. I peeked outside and saw her in the nesting box. About 20 minutes later there was a surpirse waiting

She has layed 3 eggs total now, all fairly small. I added oyster shell and am hoping they will grow in size, though they're very cute the way they are. Now if only my other 4 girls (silver spangled hamburg, barred rock, and 2 naked neck turkens) would start laying!
