Hubby went on his morning rounds to check critters & found that 1 of my babies were missing...next day, 1 dead, 1 injured & all but 2 more were dead & somewhat eaten.

He took the remaining 2, plus the injured one & moved them to what we thought was a more secure location for them.

We were going to set a live trap in the last place they were tonight, went out to do it & durn if a 'coon wasn't in the new pen, had already killed the injured one & had it half eaten! (I still don't see how something THAT fat got in that coop!)

Needless to say, we don't have to worry about that 'coon getting back in the coop for the other 2!

Took photos of the end results, but will refrain from posting.

So glad you got the coon.

When I was a kid it was always a good thing to disturb them during their last supper.

Had another one get away about 4 a.m this morning! We'll have to set the live trap tonight!

How frustrating. So sorry for your losses.

Someone said use marshmellows in the trap for coons and you shouldn't catch the kitty cats.... I tried catching a stray cat one time and kept ending up with my own!
