We're adding an additional "module" to my existing coop so I've been to several lumber/DIY stores lately. I scored some scrap pieces of plexiglass by looking inside one store's off-cuts/trash bin where they cut plexiglass for customers. Perfect fit for winter window covers! $1 a piece.

Same store had pile of broken pieces of Pavestone and various flat pavers, set out in the parking lot--real pieces, not just 'crumbs'. If I needed something along those lines I bet I could get some for free.

I've also been checking the lumber off-cut bins at the lumber stores. We found some 2"x2" wood at one store-- odd lengths but perfect for this project. FREE!

Later this summer I plan to construct two more 'pallet huts' using 2 pallets to make upside-down "U" waystations for the girls as they make their way around the pasture. Already know where I can get them for free.

And one of my favorite sites to check out occasionally, just for ideas is: repurposedmaterialsinc.com
