I keep my eggs on the counter for a few days-two weeks prior to eating.

I made eggs yesterday for family visiting and used two cartons... maybe 2-3 weeks old. My house has been about 75 degrees since i have the AC off.

I found a black thing in my egg. It was the size of a mini m &m ( like the ones in the tubes) and was brn/blackish.

I picked it out and scrambled away.

Yes I have bloodspots occasionally and Yes we have bullseyes.

Did i almost eat a baby?

Most likely a Meat Spot. Meat spots are occasionally found on an egg yolk and are merely an error on the part of the hen. They’re caused by the rupture of a blood vessel on the yolk surface when it’s being formed or by a similar accident in the wall of the oviduct.

It would be impossible for that to have been a baby chick.
