I'd clip as much as you can on that one wing, I have to clip mine as short as possible because they can still jump fly pretty high and I would be devastated if one of mine got lost from here.

Now I am worried that maybe I should not get these girls. I thought that if we clipped both wings, we'd be ok.
I am supposed to drive 1.5 hours to the shelter tomorrow to adopt them, I don't want to make a mistake and think we will be ok, and find out we are not. I'd be devastated if one got over the fence and something happened. The four we have now are not clipped, and I think the runners could make it over if they wanted, but they never even try. Of the other two, one is a pekin (too fat) and the other one only HAS one wing anyway, so no problem there.
What to do???????????

Your runners will ever try since they are non fliers. Make sure one wing is fully clipped on each and keep an eye on them. Once settled in they should want to stay with the flock.

Thanks. I shouldn't need to do both wings on each. My runners will fly a little. They can get a few feet up off the ground! It is a riot. Mostly when they are far away and I am coming out with peas.

Thanks Dianaross77. Hubby is the wing clipper here. I need to find him a diagram on wing clipping for a refresher, last time he did it was about 9 years ago.
I am excited. I love getting new duckies.
Someday I will get a friendly one tho!!!!!!!! I was told these two pretty much stick to themselves in the large mixed flock at the shelter. No matter, just as long as they get along, they can do what they want (within reason)

I have a barred EE and she was great at jumping my four foot fence. I did't mind so much til she jumped in area that could have brought her to my neighbors yard.

Well I keep a pair of scissors in the coop and I clipped BOTH her wings. No more jumping. Do not be afraid to trim the wings they will look funny but it won't hurt. Clearly the OP did not clip enough off and needs to trim more.

Or tie a rock to her leg that'll work too.
