My two EEs began getting nice and plump a few weeks ago, their combs started getting big, and they started squatting. So I've been looking for eggs in the backyard, where they free range. Didn't find any. It was very confusing because I was sure they should be laying by now.
Well, yesterday morning I was walking past the flower box near our front door. I found four perfect, green eggs. Turns out the EEs weren't happy with any spots in the backyard to make a nest, even though there's plenty of places, so several times they went through a hole in the fence, walked all the way out front to the "good" soil in the flower box, laid their eggs, and hurried away back through the fence into the backyard!
