Our EE decided to not use the egg boxes, but found a nice place under a bench. My question is can I use the eggs?

OUr temps in So. Cal. have been over 90 for most of the last two weeks, with some days in the 100s. Eggs were in the shade for the whole time, but still outside.

well here in texas it's been around a hundred degrees and we gather eggs within 24 or 36 hours of laying...haven't had any trouble at all with them going bad yet. wouldn't an egg smell funny if it was off?

If they are fertile there may be some embryo development. If not they are probably fine to eat. I would crack them in a bowl for inspection before they hit the pan.

Nice colors!!! I'm so jealous!

if you are worried about them not being "good" try the float test. If they float in a bowl of water they are bad. those are really pretty egg colors!

I thought one way to tell a "bad egg" is if it floats in water (because the air pocket gets bigger as it loses liquid). If it were to sink in a pot, then it should still be good. BUT...I would still crack them in a seperate bowl first and smell them too. Even still, since there's only 13 (and an unlucky # for some people) you might just want to discard them!
Or like Chicky Tocks said, stick em' in an incubator (or see if your hen will start sitting.) Mine always seem to want to sit on them when they get about 15 eggs laid anyways.

I agree, I would do the float test in cool water, then crack them into a bowl separately before using, if they stayed at the bottom. As old as store bought eggs are, most likely they are fine.
