Turns out it is one of my two Naragansett hens layin these eggs. The boys saw her head straight off into the brush, marked where she was, and lead me to the nest when I got home. Cracked the first egg, and this egg, open. 1 fertile, one not. We'll wait a bit before we start collecting eggs from her. The second egg was half again larger than the first. Tough membrane, great tough shell.
