So I was looking for information on inbred pekings and found this website by accident. It had information about a sort of obscure almost totally unknown duck breed.
I couldn't help but be intrigued, and thought others also might be interested in this.
What do you think? Have you heard of Shetland Ducks?
I was surprised that I hadn't noticed this before, but one aspect that I'm curious about is that my drake is super friendly. And he has some swedish blue in him, as some kind of swedish blue runner cross. And people had been telling me that swedish ducks are more friendly and calm with humans.
So when I saw this I was a bit curious if these have that trait also, or what other traits they might have?

I'm also starting to not judge the ducks as much by only color and egg production. My activities with pekings have made me learn that there's many ducks out there that are undervalued as a breed, and many are more calm than others. The differences already that I'm seeing in welsh harlequinns are already showing themselves to be way more calm than the other ducks so far. (Although I haven't tried all that's out there.)
Its pretty amazing how different various breeds can be.
