found this egg out in my front yard just hatched is it a wild turkey.

    we have had a hen around the house an hanging around our pen with our little chicks do you think she hatched.if so how close do you think they are from were we found the egg shell hatched this afternoon sometime.

    Looks like a turkey egg. to Me does not look like it hatched. Did you find the nest or did a bird leave this. We have Ravens that will carry eggs off and drop them.

    Poults hatch by pecking a circle around the big part of the egg. That egg looks like it was eaten by something.

    the other half of the shell is still in the yard iwill piece it back an see if it was eaten or hatched.thanks eveyone

    it was a different egg they were both eaten to bad i will keep my eyes open for any preditors i can take care of myself .

    Judging by all the yolk on that egg, you will not find a poult. Something got into the turkey nest and had some snacks.

    That egg that you found opened on the side was carried to where you found it by a raccoon then eaten.
