and we While mowing the knee high grass on the back side of my property I uncovered a clutch of about 10 wild turkey eggs. We know they are turkey eggs from the size and we have seen the male and female for the last couple weeks. We have not seen the turkeys for a couple days but we know they are around. What should we do with the eggs? Is it possible that the nest has been abandoned? Should we incubate them?

Thank you,
Twinsfam

I think you should leave them there and don't touch them then wait a day or so to see if the parents come back:):)

That's what we thought. We deal with domesticated chickens and just tend to enjoy observing the wild turkey. If the parents do not return is there anything we should do?

First question is do you have an incubator?second try to figure at least how old they are ? If the parents don't come back its best to incubate them try to search what temperature they need to be because i raise only chicken

We do not have an incubator but we were going to get one for our chickens eventually anyway. I dont know how to tell how old the eggs are but there a ten of them and I know Turkey's can have up to 15. I guess we will watch for the parents to return.

Any other advice would be appreciated as to how long to wait before trying to incubate......

I will try to find more information and i got one question i am new to this website and i dont know how to post questions do you know how oh and one more thing if you dont see the parents come back be sure to keep them safe from predaters

Don't know what state you live in, but you could be breaking some game laws in your state if you were to take possession of said eggs.
Just sayin

We are in California so if there is any such state it would probably be here.

Would fish and game take them?

Alot of times if a hen is spooked off her nest, she will abandon it and the eggs become coon food. Just my experience of alot of years of being a turkey hunter.
