Four colors of Starlight Green Eggers

What gorgeous chickens! Very pretty and cute!!!

I think you're probably right on what they are, though the dark feathers on the front of Quarter White surprise me a little. She looks female to me.

Cajun Filet could be a SGE, or could be an olive egger. I have an olive egger that looks almost identical on coloring and very similar to her, but then so do my SGEs.
Thank you! Hubs said Quarter White was a bad name since she was mostly white. But at this rate I think it will fit. The dark red was not something I expected. And I feel like the yellow head makes the comb seem darker.

The rest from that bin seem like OEs to me, one a very obvious Welsummer/Legbar mix. All yellow legged and no muff/beards. I like surprises!

Don't feel bad, I think Quarter White is a great name! Not a naming snafu at all! It can be so hard to name them!

I named one of my chicks Angel, due to her gorgeous white wings and back, which promptly molted to be 3/4 red (she was an ISA brown, with heavy on the red (brown)). Onyx, a black chick, turned out to be Blended Onyx (molted to have lots of white lacing on the breast and brown bleed-through on the wing feathers). Chipmunk (due to gorgeous chipmunk striping and general disposition) of course doesn't look like a chipmunk anymore, but at least the disposition still fits. And our rooster Speckle, named for vibrant mille-fleur / speckled sussex type coloration and banding as a chick, lost all his spots and banding and turned into the darkest red chicken I've ever seen, with a black/green tinted tail.

Our SGE Feather's name, unfortunately, was quite apt - on the second day in the big run, around 10 wks old, she denuded half of Chipmunk's back in less than an hour, thereby earning Feather a new home. She had a red head on a gold pheasant body, very pretty, but the feather picking just didn't work with our management style.

I have two that are 8-9 weeks now! Both from TSC. Here are pictures of them as chicks, at around 4 weeks and then today at 8-9 weeks.

Darcy is the darker one with slight waddles coming in - suspicious that she might be a roo, but I go back and forth every day (second to last two pics) Wanda is the more golden one who I’m fairly certain is a pullet (last two pics).

So fun to see pictures of everyone’s SGE kiddos!

These are my 2 starlight green eggers that I picked up 3 days ago from TSC, so they are probably about a week old now, or getting close. They are both so cute, but I'm so in love with the dark one. They were labeled pullets so hopefully they both are. We are only keeping one and giving the other to a friend but it's so hard to choose. The light one is crazy active, and we have 2 jersey giants with them who are way calm, so the contrast is sharp lol. I'll update every few weeks.
This is what the darker chick looks like now at about 5 weeks old

Love seeing everyone's different colors of these!

Thought I would update since the Starlights I have left have been laying for a few weeks. They are laying almost daily. Their eggs are mostly light olive green, but we've had one bluish one and one greyish one.
When I get new pictures of the two with poofy heads that I gave to a friend I will post those.

Feather Flocklear and Natasha about 20 weeks old. Started laying at 16 weeks.

one of my starlight’s, Clementine, laid her first egg today! She’s in the front of the pic, closest to me. she’s the lighter of my two and laid a gorgeous egg! i had expected more of a mint color, but I much prefer this! i also added a photo of her egg (left) with my olive egger’s first egg (yes i saved it. i’m *that* chicken mama 🙈) beautiful sage-y green. dullish, and i love it!

she was also an adorable baby chick 🤗 🐥

How exciting! Cute eggs!

Updated picture of this chick (Sassy) at 6-8 wks. She's getting a lot less shy. The black chicken is a PBB and Sassy is in the front in the third picture (back chick is an ISA Brown).
So this chicken actually gave me green eggs. Happy about that! Hers is the green one. She turned into a white laced red chicken with penciling and red breast, head, and tail. Very pretty. Will have to take some grown up pics...

Three colors of SGE at 2-3 weeks. Two pictures per chick.
So the white chick turned into a red dusted white chicken and lays a green egg. One of the pheasant colored chicks was rehomed, and the other turned into a gorgeous pheasant colored layer, with gold and black head and gold/brown pheasant body. Unfortunately, she lays tan eggs. I'm super ticked about it! Cause I only have two green egg layers instead of 3...
