Four day old chick with herniated umbilical not doing well

Baby chick was born on the 28th (big black chicken)but wasn't doing well so I took it in. It had the umbilical cord still attached with a lot of egg parts it appeared. I left it alone but realized that it all dried up and it was so hard that I couldn't imagine it could pass anything. I cleaned it up yesterday and the chick seems more sick today. It was pasty again today, cleaned it again and put olive oil on the area. It's belly is stone hard..I think I may be too late in helping it. I want to try to help at home. any ideas?

Thank you. I believe he wasnt taken care of in the coup because he was sick. I nursed him back to life but apparantly it was sicker than I knew. The other two chicks are thriving.
