Willow stopped "hugging" him. She looked at him and smiled. She sniffed. "It's fine." She said sadly trying to stop crying.

"I tried, but...." Rue said, he started to cry. He couldn't forget what he had just seen.

Willow hugged him again. "You tried... that's what matters." She began to cry again

"Hey what's going on back here?" Hinda asked she had heard the bells from a distance and became concerned it wasn't until she heard the angry shouts of the men that she came.

Willow remembered. "I have to ho back and bring the loners to our herd!" She went to run back to the lone deer

Rue looked around, he laid down and sighed. 'Now what?' He thought.

"Rue what's wrong? Why do you look so distraught?" Hinda asked more confused then she had ever been in her life.

"Without Freddy, who will lead the herd?" Rue said.

 

[Twistedfeather]

"W-what happened to Freddy?" Hinda stammered she had that gut feeling she knew the answer but hoped with all her might it wasn't true.

"He.....died...." Rue said sadly, he held in his tears.
