I was recently in Aurora,NY at a resturant (Pumpkin Hill) that had an old, like antique, picture/print of 4 legged rooster. I thought maybe it was strange but not anymore. I know my ex-wife was two faced.

in the second pic, you can see a bit of a hen standing behind that handsome roo. you see her breast feathers peeking our from behind his tail?

and yes, i saw it on a show on animal planet called "born different" it is a genetic problem, and sometimes the chickens can survive the deformities and live full happy lives laying eggs and all that chickens stuff it happens early in development where they have a genetic problem that causes more limbs to grow, similar to the process of twinning but a LOT more messed up.

it is very rare to get one as it is, and even rarer to have on survive. second pic just had a hen behind him though.

:lau They are too real, Just like Santa, and the Easter Bunny! Superfreak is running through my mind right now....IDK

Someone up thread got serious for a moment and mentioned mutations. Multi limbed creatures are not unknown. Circus freak shows have plied them for as long as they've been in existence.

Inevitably, the extra "parts" are vestigial and pretty much useless.

I have seen a couple of three and four legged chicks. It's a genetic disorder. I figure they were from double yoked eggs? My uncles have commercial chicken houses. Each house holds over 20 thousand chickens. Occassionally they get chicks with more than two legs or other genetic disorders. When this happens the chicks are culled. Amy
