four months old cockeral with XC hens and when do hen needs calicum

I have two question. the other day I saw my four months old black sex link jump on top of my XC hen. He pecked her comb for about 5 seconds. Then he jumped off and the hen chased him around. What does that mean? Also i have black sex link and RIR hens that are four months old also, will they lay this year if so should i give them calcium or they laying egg period is over for this year? I live in Southwest tennessee

They will lay in the next couple months. Chickens will lay through the winter. It doesn't hurt to have free-choice oyster shell available at all times. You should also change their food over to layer pellets. Your roos behavior sounds like mating behavior.
