From what I've heard on BYC, the breeds in the stores are mixed or mislabeled, the employees will try to sex chicks by looking at them, and the genders, if they were ever separated, are generally mixed together.I wonder if this depends on your location. My first batch I got 7 chicks. 5 production blues and 2 easter eggers. All are now 18 weeks and pullets. My second batch was easier because I got golden sexlinks and knew what to look for but I didnt see any obvious males in there.Huh.
