hey there everyone!!! I have a silver laced Wyandotte who was laying for about 6 months and suddenly quit laying for about a month. About two weeks ago she did lay an egg with like half of a shell, so I thought calcium deficiency but I’ve given her special treatment and nothing!!! She sits in the nesting box for about an hour each day but hasn’t left an egg behind... she’s definitely not broody so I don’t know what to think!!! Please help!

How old is she? That's a very important bit of information.

Things that can affect egg laying: Molt, diet, illness, stress, and broodiness. If your hen is over a year old and ready to molt this year, she may have started. That affects egg quality and can even halt production.

She’s a little over a year old and she hasn’t had any signs of illness and I don’t know why she’d be stressed

Have you noticed feathers around the coop and run?
Moulting happens and mine stop laying during that time . I feed them sunflower seeds, lentils and an occasional can of tuna if they look really rough

Nope, no signs of molting what-so-ever!! I even kinda pushed away feathers to look at her skin and she has no pin feathers coming through so I really don’t think it’s that
