What a horrible story! Thank God for people like you who are willing to step in. I hope the woman who ordered those chicks will get a refund and take the money to a more humane and caring hatchery, and the one she ordered from goes out of business, fast!

How horrible. Why would a hatchery ship regular mail?
Priority isn't any better. I got hatching eggs last week that took 5 days priority mail to get to me and they were just a couple of States away.

How awful! I am so sorry you had to see that. I would have cried too. I hope you find out which hatchery it is and let us know. Bless you for being the type of person that would insist on checking,just in case you could save one.

My stomach is in knots after reading your post. How sad for those babies. Surely someone made a mistake...its unbelievable that a hatchery could be so callous.
