FOURTH ANNUAL BIGZIOS WI CHEESEHEAD CHICKENSTOCK THREAD!

I'll take a little and save it for after Sept.

I'll trade some lambs ears & irises for some lemon balm & sage. What type of thyme do you have? If you don't have enough sage or it didn't survive, I'd be interested in thyme instead.

Del, my rhubarb did terrible last year. I'm not even sure it survived. And here I used to think you couldn't kill that stuff.  :gig

I am pretty sure is culinary type.

Ohh! Ohh!

I'll take any rhubarb people have too much of! There was only 1 little plant here and I think it died last summer

Hi everyone,
I am planning to come with family this year...Sat. and stay the night....... I have Daylilies ( yellow), Creeping Flocks (purple), Black-eyed Susan, Iris (purple), (all roots/tubers), Oregano, Rhubarb, Garlic bulbs, Horse Radish, and Strawberries.......Looking for Basil, Sage, Rosemary, Rasberries, Tame Grapes.....Don't know what to bring for food yet.....Do you put a menu together for meals?

For food we bring our specialties! You can look over post #65 and decide if there is something that you make that will fit in. We dont organize a meal so to speak...but there is always a ton of food! We have our potluck on Saturday and on Sunday morning Jim makes his famous pancakes. Other than that everyone just sort of wings it!
There is a full kitchen at camp so if you are traveling a long way you can cook/warm up your stuff if need be.

I think I am not going to post plants this year. What has happened in the past is that you just bring a bunch along and take a different bunch home. It is pretty relaxed. If you do want to do a specific trade with someone feel free to use the PM feature and set it up privately.

I think we will do the same thing with birds too. Just a bit easier! (Yes Amy and Julie--I plan to bring some Toulouse babies!) I will hold some back...been selling quite a bit of stuff on CL lately!

Goodie!! Julie thought she'd like geese instead of ganders, I was thinking a pair for me. Can you sex them that early?

Gallus, what are 'tame' grapes? I can bring raspberries to trade - the variety is called Nova.

Amy ----- I would like some raspberries.....tame?...domesticated?....I have enough wild grapes on my property....I have fought them for years...They were so bad when I 1st bought my place that they could lift my skidsteer off the ground when started to remove them.

My rasp are domesticated, nice big berries in good years. I have 2 varieties but one does better than the other. We have some wild grapes but they are bird food. I'm looking for grapes that will survive WI and be useful for eating or wine/jelly.

Wild grapes makes the best jelly you ever tasted. It takes like 2 full ice cream pails of bunches...then you have to pick all the grapes off before cooking but the flavor is devine and to die for. It's our favorite jelly here.....just sayin

I'm alergic to stainless flasks...makes me feel awful in the morning.
