FOURTH ANNUAL BIGZIOS WI CHEESEHEAD CHICKENSTOCK THREAD!

how do you make trumpet vine able to travel? We have one in the front yard( wrestling with the split rail fence) and would like to start one in the back yard.

Amy, I agree with Terri. With that nasty drought last year when you planted it, it might just have gone dormant to try to survive. I would leave it & see if it gets leaves this year. Mine just looks like dead sticks right now too, but in a month it'll be threatening to take over everything.

Bl, I liked your coffee soap too. I liked the slightly gritty texture it had. Very exfoliating.

Seeing as we had such a wet spring, maybe some scents that have bug repelling qualities would be good for this year? Lemon or lemon grass, calendula, geranium?

Just a thought.

Amy the trumpet vine is really late to start to grow in the spring...dont giv eup hope yet. My huge plant still looks like a bunch of dead sticks! Once it starts to get leaves it seems like it has flowers within 2 weeks!
I am going to try and NOT take any plants home this year! I have so much here and am wondering how in the world I will ever take care of it all.
TO
If you accept any AND do not want to take them home...I'll "suffer" for you and take them to my house

Camp has k's of young white pine and white spruce seedlings growing...bring a small pail and bare root some out...just have water in the pail to keep the roots moist and then transplant when you get home....prolly smart to wait and do the deed before you leave, or the day you are going home. I have quite afew large white spruce growing here from camp...makes them special srecimens.

We love bl4's soap...suzie would like patchouli....or anything you can offer. Is it still $3.75/bar ?

Or is there a bash special...

Definitely going to take you up on that offer Bigz!

Amy your belly may not like all the bending over and digging and replanting! I can't help even if I wanted to (but I really don't) because I have a hernia at the belly button from all these kids! Even bending over to harvest some tomatoes can set off Charlie horses in my gut. Don't overdue it Big Momma... Lolololol ;)

Ewwww.... baby hernia! Mine is under my right ribs. Sometimes when it kicks up you can see it move.

Anyway.... I know it's a man made scent (made with natural oils) but I love Amber! You can get it pre-mixed.

Gee BigZ, we just cut down about 4 dead conifers. Not even sure what kind they were. Do either of those do well with allot of water? At least heavy in spring water? I think this land was marsh at one time.

Now I forgot what I came here for grrrr CRS!!!

Cind, I think most evergreens in general aren't too fond of wet conditions, especially the long needled ones (red/white pines). But I have white spruces in some areas that get awfully wet in the spring & they are tolerating it. As long as the area dries up in summer, I think they'd be ok.
