)

I do want oxine. I just thought it would be good for cleaning out the incubator. Who knew it did so much other stuff?!

Great. But WHAT is it?

I know that the Bash hasen't even occured yet, but I still have to ask if folks want me to find out what dates are available for 2014. It's the only way to reserve a year ahead to be available for any summer dates. Think about it and let me know. More and more folks are finding out about what camp offers for familys and groups at such a more than fair price. It makes a vacation in the woods affordable, when you think it's out of reach finacially.

First weekend in June..should be a tradition so its easier to make plans.

LABS:

GOOD bacteria used to ferment and condition gardens, DL, and making feed better for the chickens. It is what is used to make yogurt, buttermilk and probiotics. I sprayed my DL and garden to condition and create good environments.

Many people take L. acidophilus to help maintain the pH level of the intestine, through the production of lactic acid, that allows for the proliferation of sensitive yet beneficial microbes that are important parts of the fecal flora, and in doing so can help in replacing useful bacteria in the intestinal tract after heavy antibiotic usage. L. acidophilus also has uses in combating irritable bowel syndrome, hepatic encephalopathy, asthma, high cholesterol, lactose intolerance, and necrotizing enterocolitis. L. acidophilus is also used as a feed additive for livestock, because it supposedly helps the digestibility of food through the production of certain enzymes. New research is delving into the possible use of Lactobacillus acidophilus in combating E. coli colonization of livestock and proliferation of infected meat. University of Nebraska research has shown, in the largest feeding study ever conducted, that calves fed with feed supplemented with L. acidophilus had up to 80% less E. coli in their manure. This is the most promising method in inhibiting E. coli in livestock to date, but further studies need to be done be for it can be implemented on a global scale.

I use it to ferment my feed for my chickens..I have not had cocci or any type of gleet since feeding it.

Can we try doing this at different locations? That way it's easier on some of the other people who live further away? Rhinelander's gorgeous, as is the LaCrosse area. How about the Trempeleau County Fairgrounds in Galesville? It's about an hour (or less?) north of LaCrosse.

Regarding bunkhouses: Don't forget, people, I have a huge 3 room tent that can easily sleep 4-6 people PER SECTION depending on how much room each individual person wants and if there's a bunch of smaller kids and if someone lays at everyone's heads or feets. My mommie taught me how to share, once upon a time...

I have to beg someone tomorrow to take that day for me. Apparently the schedule has already been rewritten twice for people deciding they want that day off. Chickenscratch, there's a light blue or a fuschia pair of Crocs in that size. Which do you prefer?

What if I take orders for all this stuff for people and I can't get it off work? Should I put in my 2 week notice? :lol:

I just sent terri a PM to RSVP for the Chickenstock! Myself, my wife Ruth, and son Noah will be attending. I intend to bring as much of my poultry bookstore as will fit in the car with the camping gear we will bring along. I work Saturday so I should be there Saturday night and Sunday.
