Hello Everyone,
We are a suburban turned country family, completely new to chickens. They were over a week old I’m guessing at TSC and on sale so I was told if we’re getting them we’re getting them today and that was March 22. So we’ve had them for about four and a half weeks (seems longer). We got eight pullets, asked for 1 Ameraucana,
2 Orpingtons but now I suspect one is a Cornish), 3 RIR, and 2 Barred Rocks. Discovered BYC on March 17th while looking for chicken coop ideas. Not too many hobbies at all just going to try our hand at keeping chickens for eggs and vegetable gardening. We’re a family of four with an occasional older child making it five, busy life, one dog a German Shepherd. I decided to join because I’ve seen many answers to questions that have worked (we had one case of pastey vent at the end of the first week, tried yogurt didn’t really see them eat any but then I stumbled upon ACV with the mother answer and it went away).
