Thanks, the ones I really like are the colored corn when the cob has red or blues in them. Much like hatching never know what's going to turn up.

I bet those are beautiful but the craftsmanship is whats showing through.

Much like drawing you can get lost in it. Would love to see some of your chalk drawings. I've not turned in a while, the pens I've been putting together have been stored for some time. Chickens have taken over as hobby here. Must make time for both

It's not like I don't have a barn full of interesting wood already cut and drilled to make more. I once traded 6 pens for an oak burl that measured 3' tall by 2' round. Great find. The pens were made from it.

I talked to some wood turners at the county fair last year. was trying (laugh if you must) to get them to make a prosthetic leg for a chicken . some sort of strap-on. The leg bent at the knee and I was successful with a prototype but never was able to get a forever leg. I ended up culling an otherwise healthy bird.

Hmmm it would need to grow with bird. What about pvc pipe with plug inside to let leg fit inside once it was old enough
