Fowl Pox, help!

Fowl pox usually last several weeks. It seems to be very hard on young ones though. Touching the scabs can help to spread the pox virus, and scabs that dry and fall off can also spread the disease. I would keep trying to get plenty of nutrition into the poult, and really hope that you can save her.

I understand. Hopefully you can get some photos so we can see the bumps better. I don't know much about Turkeys, but am going to "assume" that Fowl Pox has to run it's course just like it does in chickens. Any scabs/lesions close to the eyes would need to be watched since eyes can get infected. It doesn't sound like that's the case though.

Fowl Pox can turn to wet form, your vet is correct, but I think you would notice that:)

I'm sorry she is not getting bigger. Is she eating well? What does she eat?

@casportpony ?

We would love to see better photos when possible (the whole bird, any lesions/pox on the face, legs, inside the beak, etc.)

Have you noticed if she has any lesions/pox inside the beak?

Here eyes need to be kept clean of crusts or pus. Saline is good to use. Terramycin or Neopolycin Ointment can be used in the eyes twice a day to help treat any bacterial infection. The pox scabs are infectious, so don’t work on her eyes and then mess with the other chickens without washing hands. Eye infections can cause blindness. For some reason chicks tend to get more pox scabs around the eyes. Pox is a virus, but the eyes can be a good setup for bacterial infections. I hope your chick gets over this serious illness.

Yes. She is being kept inside my house. I feed and water flock first thing in the morning, and once I've handled Peep Peep (with gloves), or anything in her enclosure, I immediately put my clothes in the washer, and shower. I have a pair of boots that I only use for dealing with my outdoor chickens.
