I have a 7month old bantam that appears to have been burnt, I researched disease in poultry and found a photo of fowl pox. I need to know what I can do to cure this, if possible, and does the disease affect the eggs?

Fowl pox comes from mosquitos that bit your chickens. It just has to run its course, and you can dab a little bit of iodine on some of the black marks which will help dry it up. Most chickens recover. Ocasionally it can kill a chicken, but not very often.

Isolate the affected chicken if you can, because once he has an outbreak, he can transmit it to the flock.

I'm not a vet or anything, but I think that's pretty accurate.

Hope this helps and good luck,
Sharon
