Hello All, this is my first time with chickens have had 4 hens for about 6 months and added a young Brahma rooster about 4 weeks ago. Just started noticing irritated areas that turn black on his comb and today his left eye is swollen and almost looks like bubbles on it. I am thinking of fowl pox maybe dry and starting wet? Or dry fowl pox and mycoplasma for eye issue?? Any thoughts, and what to do. The hens are fine no signs. Ignore the mud on his beak he was foraging through the yard after a rain.

Has he been fighting or is he getting picked on?
Looks like scabs to me.

Hopefully the eye issue is from a peck or poke to the eye, but possibly a symptoms of respiratory illness. Flush the eye with saline and put some Terramycin eye ointment in the eye 2-3 times a day. See if the symptoms resolve.

I would tend to think also that that is peck wounds. If you cannot find the Terramycin, which is better for applying to eyes, I have used a new unopened tube of plain Neosporin ointment. Some people will use Vetericyn Eye Gel, sold at TSC.
