Hi guys, does this look like fowl pox to you? this rooster was walking around a shopping center parking lot and I rescued him this morning. He’s eating and drinking and walking but one eye is swollen up shut and he has bumps all over. He’s separated from the flock completely to prevent spreading. He has an appointment with a vet next Wednesday. I’ve already given him antibiotics and using a pink eye spray to help with his eyes.

Yes, that looks like a moderate case of fowl pox. It is a virus, and antibiotics probably are not necessary. However, I would flush the eye with saline or an eye wash, and apply some Terramycin or Neosporin Ointment twice a day. Be sure to keep him quarantined from your other chickens in case he has something else that might be contagious to them, for at least a month. Fowl pox usually goes away after a month or so. Let us know how he gets along.
