The Sulmet wasn't meant to treat the pox but more as a preventative for any secondary infections. I had asked about something to put on the sores because they were raw looking and she recommended it.

Might try Betadine on the sores on the combs. I used it on a roo who had been in a fight with another roo and got his comb beat up. the betadine healed him up fast. It's what I had on hand and had seen it recomended for fowl pox as well. Most drug stores carry it. Also, if you are going to use ACV in the water, you need unpasturised, unfiltered, with "mother" in it. Not sure I would go with4TBSin a gallon, but at least 2 and if you want to work it up from there. Sometimes if there is too much for your chicken's taste, they won't drink it, so if you haven't used it before, might would want to work him into it. Just a thought. Poor little guy!
