I've been researching what I need to do to sell live birds at public places like flea markets. But I would love to hear about the process from people who have actually done it.
How smooth was the process for you?
Did you have to get your flock tested before sending the application in or was someone sent to check your flock after you sent it in.
If you're flock was purchased within a year and came with a pullorum certificate, will they still need tested?
How long did the whole process take for you?

Did you get registered with the state? I'm looking into filing the paperwork so I can also sell at some local flea market/trade days. I was told after I sent paperwork in, the state would send out an inspector. I'm curious if there is anything particular that they will be looking for or will they be testing my birds? All of my birds are healthy and have great housing and pens. Just want to be prepared or kinda know what to possibly expect from this visit.

Yes I did. I don't know if you still need my advice but here ya go..
They came out and inspected the flock to make sure that I had filed under the correct number of chickens. If you said you had less than a hundred head they don't want to find out you actually got 500+ stashed in your backyard. Be sure to find a local tester to test your flock and get your PT certificate because you got to have that also before selling off property in texas

Thank you for your response! I'm looking into trying to find a PT tester or looking to become one myself. I have about 450 total fowl right now🙈 so I fear it's going to cost me a small fortune to have my flock tested, because they test every bird don't they?
I guess I need to get an exact head count of my entire flock.
