Fowlpox or something else?

Hi all!

My main flock developed dry fowlpox and I didn’t know this until after moving my pullets out to the run. They are separated but in the same area. The hens are all recovering nicely and I thought I lucked out with the pullets not getting it but I’m not sure if that’s the case. She is 8weeks old today and has had this spot on her beak for about a week now. Is this fowlpox as well? She only has this one spot and my hens did not get any spots on the beak area so I wasn’t sure if it could be something else. None of the other 9 pullets have any spots either.

That is a common place for scrapes or injuries from wire fencing and feeders. If she only has that one scab, I would think it is an injury that will eventually heal, not fowl pox.

Thank you for your response. Do you know how long it takes for injuries like that to heal? Should I be doing anything? It’s been there for about a week and doesn’t seem to be getting better.
