Fox attack after daylight

It's too early to say whether or not the app works. It's not at all uncommon to see a fox where I went hunting, so it might've had nothing to do with it.
Anyway I'll keep experimenting with it. Mating season will be the time to really put it to the test.

I was using my .223 and I rely way too much on the bipod with it. I was forced to take a standing shot with nothing to steady it. Still shoulda got him though.
If I'd had my shoty or .22 I would've got him for sure.

.223 that is a round I a fairly familiar with nice light recoil but bolt or semi auto rifle

It should be good out to at least 400 meters but you were probably close and shot
right over it I am guessing

It's a bolt, I haven't got the license to own a high powered semi auto.
I reckon that's why I missed, adjusting for distance is something I really need to work on.
I shoot fine at a distance with the bipod, but taking standing shots with it is something I need to practice with too.
 
Oh now I understand, it was when you put up .223 I had to ask as when I was in the Military the .223 was the standard M16 round and it was great the M16 A-2 the M16 A-3 wet to a 3 round burst as Auto select but even the semi the round is really designed for bang, bang,
bang and bang again till you hit your target and the soft recoil but a bolt would be a lot slower and I forget that weapons are not something every one is allowed and even here the government
is cracking down but would a fun round the .223 really is ....

And yes standing is something we all need practice on you are right about that ....

The 223 is a highly accurate round. One of if not the most popular rounds in varmint rifles for mid range shooting. most any bolt action with be far more accurate than any military spec built semi auto. for hunting purposes stick with the bolt theyre far more reliable and accurate unless you want to custom build an ar15, you can get the accuracy out of them but it doesn't come cheap

Yeah nothing beats a bolt action, even though you only really get the one shot. Gun dealers and professional hunters are pretty much the only one's allowed to own high powered semi auto's down here. So something like an AR-15 isn't really an option for me, or most people for that matter.
 
Oh well ya really don't need a auto but they sure are nice in a .22 and other then a .22 I personal do not have one ether and with the price of ammo it really isn't much worth it anyway ...

But the bolt is about the most common here also and the lever action also running a close seconded ...

But for accuracy is the reason I have them as I do very little hunting much anymore but for sometime I did do some compaction shooting but it really was to get out of the house more then anything ....

Went for a short hunt in the same place I went the other day. Brother in law got the pesky fox with the .22 with very little difficulty, and in about the first five-ten minutes. I'm fairly positive it was the one I'd seen the other day.

I'm eligible for the license that would allow me to have a semi auto .22 or other rim fire. I've been meaning to get it, just haven't got around to it.
 
Alright good job getting the Fox maybe now your chicken coop will be safe for awhile .....

Is that a license to buy and own a .22 or to go hunting .....

It seems to me back in the early 80's when I was stationed in Hawaii at Schofield Barracks
the Australian Army came to Hawaii to play war games and they were talking about owning
fire arms but I guess like all good things it comes to an end

So what do you need to do to own a .22 in Australia now ?
