Does anyone know how you mix up a saline solution for hens? I need one for the bitten hen because her feathers are getting a bit messy and I don't want the wounds to get dirty. Also, as the wounds are on her chest, do you think it might be worth just wrapping a bit of bandage around her to keep the wounds cleaner?
A little update too. Ix is looking perkier today and has started eating and drinking by himself. It is like he has just turned into a day old chick again and is having to learn how to do everything. There is one hen that is very sweet and keeps showing him how to eat and drink, and if he lies down she will come and sit on his head to comfort him. I think he is getting better from whatever was the matter with him, but we still have our fingers crossed.
