Fox attack on our 7 week old chick - warning: image included

We came home after picking up the kids, there was flash flooding and we found one of our babies had been attacked.

They have been perching on the coop by the pen’s fence, so my guess is it was attacked through the fence

We have heard iodine? What else can we do? I noticed an exposed bone (lost wing?)

It would be hard to wrap without causing difficulty breathing because a chicken’s lung are basically on its back, very near that wound. It does need to be cleaned and kept moist to heal. I can’t help with the bone but here is electrolyte advice from @Eggcessive who might also be able to help with the injury itself: “You can use Pedialyte or Gatorade or even make homemade electrolytes. Add 1 tsp of sugar and a pinch of sugar to a quart of water. If you have salt substitute a tiny pinch of that will add potassium as well.”

Good advice for getting electrolytes into her.

Povidone Iodine can be used to clean wounds.

Trim the feathers away from the wound and get some clear well lit photos. You mention there's exposed bone, if possible seek vet care.

If not, then coat the wound and exposed bone with triple antibiotic ointment after you clean the wound really well. Don't wrap the wound unless she's picking at herself. She may pick/taste of the ointment or try to preen which is normal.

Exposed bone is concerning, it can get infected. It would be a good idea to start an antibiotic. A lot of meds were taken from the shelves years back, but you can still order some things online. Keep her drinking and eating her normal feed. Is she the only one injured?
